It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time (Part 3)

Shortly after we got Brutus, we waited to see if he would find any escapable holes in the new fence. He tends to lead you right to where he plans to escape before he does it.

During a break in the snow in January (and surprisingly warm temperatures) I spent less than an hour cleaning dog shit out of the backyard. After waiting ten minutes and getting angry that I wasn't done yet, Brutus started looking for a way out of the yard, because outside of the fence HAS to be warmer than the backyard. It's simple logic.

He passed by the remaining gate of the old fence a couple times, giving it a look-over to see if it was loose. When he found it wasn't, he circled the perimeter and couldn't find a hole deep enough to slip through. So he came back to the gate, which was his only chance for salvation.

He's since given up hope that he'll ever be free.
